Do's...
1. Do get creative with your outfit or costume.
You'll see so many people dressed from the mildest costumes to the wildly outrageous! This is the time to get creative with your clothing and have fun at the festivities.
2. Do drink a lot of water.
You tend to get dehydrated quickly when it's sunny and you're walking around for hours, and consuming alcohol with your friends. Make sure you drink a lot of water even if it means using the port-a-potties. You'll be happy the next day when you don't have a bad hangover. You'll have more fun through out the night and will be able to chase the sluggishness away that comes from being dehydrated.
3. Do bring hand sanitizer or a to-go pack of wet wipes.
You might need to use the port-a-potties when you're at the festival. After long lines of people using them through out the day they are less than desirable places to be around. Especially if you're going to be eating anything there. Bring some hand sanitizer or to-go wet wipes and use them.
4. Do bring a comfortable pair of shoes.
Even if you decide to wear heels at night for the after parties bring some comfortable shoes to walk around in during the day. You'll to deal with less pain and feel happier and more comfortable to celebrate with your friends.
5. Do bring ear plugs for your ears.
You may not be thinking about it at the time you're busy dancing around loud speakers at each float, but those speakers are loud enough to do some damage to your ears. Bring some stylish earplugs to protect your ears if you're going to be near the floats. Trust us after several bass heavy parties, concerts, nightclubs, and festivals it will affect your hearing.
Don'ts...
1. Don't wear a costume that's too intricate and not manageable.
During a past event there was a girl with a full out Victorian era white wig, cinched and busty white gown, white pantyhose, and white heels. It took her literally half an hour to maneuver her dress to use the bathroom and she was lucky enough to be at the VIP bathroom area indoors unlike most partygoers. It's one thing to get festive and it's another to make things so complicated that you're worried about your outfit the whole time. Do yourself a favor and save the intricate costume for an intimate party. Wear something you can run around in and have a good time.
2. Don't drink alcohol on an empty stomach.
There are so many times you'll see people who are so drunk they end up passing out somewhere or their friends have to take care of them. Make sure you have eaten something before you start drinking. There are usually food vendors so bring a few extra dollars and snack through out the day. Sometimes it's easy to forget to eat with you're drinking and you end up paying the price later.
3. Don't litter.
There are so many garbage cans clearly marked trash, recycle, and compost, but over the hours the streets get filthy with water bottles and trash every where. Do everyone a favor and throw your trash away so there's room to walk and sit around without having to worry about stains on your cool outfit.
4. Don't wear killer heels.
It might look hot with your sexy outfit, but imagine walking and standing around for hours in them. Especially since the party continues at many locations through out the night. Don't learn it the hard way. Bring a pair of comfortable shoes to walk around in during the parade and get your heels out for the after parties so you can save yourself the pain. If you insist on wearing heels for the daytime event make sure you at least have comfortable shoes like pretty flip flops to walk around during the parade.
5. Don't bring an attitude with you.
Everyone is there to have fun, so don't ruin it by getting belligerently drunk and picking fights with other partygoers. LovEvolution is all about showing some love and enjoying the collective experience. Leave the drama at home and enjoy the festival.
